Postdoctoral Fellow

Marco received his PhD from the University of Padua (Italy) under the mentorship of Prof. Marco Mongillo. His thesis research investigated the mechanisms through which mitochondrial dysfunction and sarcopenia impact autonomic control of the heart, resulting in arrhythmia. Marco joined the Elrod Lab in 2024 and is currently investigating the pathological metabolic changes in the context of heart failure and Alzheimer's disease.
