Andrew received his Ph.D. from the University of Louisville under the mentorship of Dr. Brad Hill. His graduate work was the first to show that metabolic changes elicited by acute exercise are required for physiologic cardiac growth. Andrew joined the Elrod lab in January of 2018 and is currently investigating the interplay of metabolism and epigenetics in the context of cardiac health and disease.
